A trained volunteer will assess what help you need and determine what help can be provided.
You will be introduced to a volunteer from your community to help you.
You will be advised of the process to seek regular help.
You can start to see the benefits from having the help you want from a local person.
How much will it cost?
The scheme is free to participate in however there would be reasonable costs to cover car mileage or any specific materials.
Is there anything that can’t be provided?
There are some restrictions to what the scheme can provide and these relate to health and safety for the volunteer and the community member. The scheme coordinator can clarify these. For example: personal care.
Will the volunteer be DBS checked?
Yes for your safety the volunteer will have followed a thorough recruitment process and DBS checks will have been completed. If at any time you have any concerns speak to the coordinator
What do I do if I don’t like my volunteer?
We know it is not always easy to make an exact match. You can talk about your concerns to the scheme coordinator.
